Terms of use

This text is the agreement between you and Ryze. It is short because it does not need to be long: a tracking app, a monthly or yearly subscription, and one warning that matters — Ryze is not a doctor.

1. What you accept

By installing Ryze or creating an account you accept these terms and the privacy policy. If either does not suit you, do not use the app.

2. What the service does

Ryze is an iPhone app for food and training tracking. It offers:

analysis of a photo or a sentence to derive foods and calories;
a food log with macronutrients;
a planner and tracker for strength and cardio sessions;
GPS tracking of runs and walks;
weight projections and a calorie target recomputed regularly;
offline operation for workouts and the log;
an iOS widget.

We may change, add or remove features. A significant removal is announced in advance.

3. Who can use it

You must be 16 or over and able to enter into a contract. One account per person; shared accounts are not allowed.

4. Your account

The information you give must be accurate — your calorie target is computed from it.
You are responsible for what happens under your account and for keeping your password private.
Tell us at once if you notice access you did not authorise.

5. Trial, subscription and cancellation

The trial

Three days, every feature unlocked. If you do not cancel before it ends, the subscription starts automatically at the rate you chose.

The price

$9.99 a month or $59.99 a year, price shown for the United States. The App Store shows your country's price before you commit and that is the one that applies.

Renewal

The subscription renews on its own at the end of each period unless cancelled at least 24 hours before it falls due.
Payment is taken by Apple from your iTunes account.
You cancel in iOS Settings → your name → Subscriptions, at any time. We have no hand in it: Apple manages it.
Cancelling stops the renewal; access runs to the end of the period already paid for.

Refunds

Purchases go through Apple, so refunds do too: they are requested at reportaproblem.apple.com. In Europe, your statutory right of withdrawal is untouched.

No advertising is shown in the app, during the trial or after, and no personal data is sold to any third party.

6. What you undertake not to do

use the app for unlawful purposes;
circumvent technical protections, decompile or extract the code;
scrape the service by automated means;
create multiple accounts to extend the trial;
impersonate someone else or collect other users' data.

A breach may lead to suspension or closure of the account, with no refund of the period in progress.

7. What is yours

Your photos, meals, recipes and workouts stay yours. You grant us only the right to store and process them to run the service — analyse a photo, compute a target, show a history — and to derive anonymised statistics.

Deleting your account deletes all of it within 30 days.

8. What is ours

The app, its code, its screens, its name and its logos are protected. You hold a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the app. You may not copy it, resell it, derive a product from it, or use the Ryze mark without written agreement.

9. Health: what Ryze is not

Ryze is a tracking tool, not a medical device, and it replaces neither a doctor nor a dietitian. Consult a health professional before changing your diet or your training programme, and stop any activity if you feel pain, dizziness or faintness.

Scan estimates are approximate — expect roughly ±20% on a composed dish. Check and correct the amounts.
OpenFoodFacts entries are community-made and may contain errors.
Calories burned are approximations from standard formulas.
Recommendations do not account for a medical condition: diabetes, high blood pressure, pregnancy, an eating disorder, an injury. In those cases medical advice is required.

10. Liability

The app is provided as is. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability or perfectly accurate estimates.

To the extent the law allows, our liability does not exceed what you paid over the last twelve months. Nothing in these terms excludes a liability that cannot be excluded — gross negligence, fraud, personal injury — nor the statutory guarantees European consumers enjoy.

11. Ending the agreement

You may delete your account at any time from the app's settings.
We may close an account for serious breach, legal obligation, or if we discontinue the service — with reasonable notice and a pro-rata refund in that last case.
On closure, access stops and data is erased within 30 days.

12. Third-party services

The app relies on Google Cloud (analysis), Supabase (database), Firebase (statistics) and Apple (subscription). Each has its own terms; we are not answerable for their acts.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by French law, without depriving a consumer of the mandatory protections of their country of residence. If something is wrong, write first to support@coach-ryze.com: most disputes end there. Failing that, the European online dispute resolution platform is open, and the French courts have jurisdiction.

14. Miscellaneous

These terms and the privacy policy form the whole agreement.
If a clause is held invalid, the others remain in force.
Not exercising a right is not waiving it.
You may not assign this contract; we may on a transfer of the business, without reducing your rights.
